Prophet Dr. Matthew Obayemi Oluwarinde

ABOUT PROPHET DR. KEHINDE OBAYEMI OGUNRINDE

HIS PARENTS
Prophet Dr. Matthew Kehinde Obayemi Oluwarinde was born in the early 60s in Emure Ekiti, a town in Emure Local Government of Ekiti State, Nigeria to the royal family of Late Pa Afeniforo Ogunrinde and Madam Abigail Ogunrinde. Because the name ‘Ogunrinde' idolizes ‘ogun' the god of iron in Yoruba land of Nigeria, he decided to change his surname to ‘Oluwarinde'; a name that glorifies God.

HIS PREGNANCY AND BIRTH
Prior to his pregnancy, his mother was not blessed with male child. But during his pregnancy, a prophesy came to the mother in the church that she attends then (C.A.C, District Headquarter No1, Oke-Isegun) at Emure Ekiti that she will give birth to a glorious child, who will be a powerful person either a prophet, a military man, a king or a deliverer of people from various problems. The baby will bear neither incision nor use any native medicine. This was also confirmed by an herbalist in that town.

When she was due, the mother delivered a set of twins, both male. But while Taye (the first child) was delivered at Emure

Ekiti, Kehinde (the second child) was delivered in Owo, another town in the present Ondo State due to much difficulty experienced in his delivery. The mother was transferred to a Hospital at Owo where they met an expatriate Doctor, a missionary woman whom God used to pray for the mother and delivered her of Kehinde safely without any operation.

To protect the babies from enemies around, in line with the earlier prophesy about them, Kehinde had to be dressed for like a female child many times to confuse people of his true sex. This continued until when they become grown up and started schooling.

HIS EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
He had his elementary education at St. Paul Anglican Primary School , Emure Ekiti and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1974. In 1982, he obtained his Apprentice Certificate in Automobile Engineering.

He later attended International Institute of Church Growth, Lagos-Nigeria where he obtained Doctorate degree in Church Growth and Ministry in 2006.

HIS LIFE EXPERIENCE AND JOURNEY TO GOD
Shortly after the death of his father in 1976, he came to Lagos with one of his uncles, hoping to continue his educational career. But he was disappointed when he met himself at a mechanic workshop. He graduated in 1982.

Though, blessed through the mechanic job, yet, he was not satisfied because his dream was different to what was happening to him at that time. He planned to travel out of Nigeria to Europe through one of his friend's connection which he later did. When he got to there in 1994, his aim was to work and become a millionaire, then settle the family back home and nationalize himself as a citizen.

This was not to be because the plan of God for him was different to his. On his return back home same year, to his shock, every thing he made in Europe was seized by Nigeria Custom at the Airport. Not through with his dream, he resolved and planned to go back, but to his surprise, he heard that his friend in Europe is dead.

He became so confused that he visited many herbalists for a way out but all to no avail. When he became confused, restless and could not sleep any more, he was introduced to an herbalist, from the tribe of Tapa in northern Nigeria , who gave him a native soap to bath with.

In an effort to bath with the soap, the river where he was having his bath carried him away and was only saved by divine intervention. He became more confused and could not sleep well still. He returned to the herbalist to complain and the herbalist gave him a Tirah , an intervention commonly used by Muslims, to put under his pillow. This Tirah worked like magic because he could sleep thereafter.

But one day in 1985, he met a man of God through one of his friends whom God used to direct him back to God. He told him that God wanted to use him for His work but he refused and that was why he was suffering. He counseled him to return to God and ask for His forgiveness. He complied with the message partially by putting off all the native charms except the Tirah because of its efficacy.

In his partial obedience, he went on to a mountain in Ikoyi town, in the present Osun State in Nigeria to pray and seek the face of God. There, confirmation of his call into the ministry came; to the extent that God gave him the name of the church to be founded by him for God. God also reminded him that he kept something back at home and that he should go back to it that He will speak to him about it. On getting back home, he tore open the Tirah and to his amazement, the paper he met inside contained the inscription “ THE BLOOD OF JESUS, JESUS NAME” written in red ink.

He returned to the herbalist to report his discovery. And the herbalist told him that what he met is exactly what was inside the Tirah. He further rebuked Christians that they don't treasure what they have but they (unbelievers) treasure what Christians have. At this point he was overwhelmed with the discovery and this brought his to submission before the Lord.

Even with all these overwhelming evidences of his call to ministry, he refused to accept the calling until when God visited him with illness in 1986. When he was on admission in the hospital, Mojide Hospital at Shylon in the Palmgroove area of Lagos , all the medication administered on him brought no improvement, until God stepped in. God caused him to sleep and took him into trance for the first time.

In that trance he wanted to enter somewhere but saw a man with a dog warning him to go back. When he refused, the man released the dog to pursue him and he woke up. Again, God took him into another trance where he saw a big blue gate, inside the gate there were many people singing melodious songs. He wanted to enter and join those singing, again he saw a very tall man warning him to go back.

But he asked why he should go back and the man said, “If you can take the Bible and do what I ask you to do, you will neither be hungry nor beg.” He asked the man for assurance that he will neither be hungry nor beg for food and God assured him that “whatever you ask Me to do I will do.” And he heard a voice saying SURRENDER OR YOU DIE! And he responded, I SURRENDER and he woke up. Immediately after, he started responding to treatment and all the Nurses and Doctor were so happy. Even though they all heard him, yet, they didn't know what caused his condition to start improving.

It was at this point in his life and journey in 1986 that he finally accepted the calling and surrendered himself for the work of God.
